We're an early-stage entertainment studio and consultancy building IP and community for audiences that traditional entertainment has underserved. Our founders spent decades inside Netflix, Warner Bros., Universal, Fox and Entertainment One. We now see the opportunity for entertainment to engage a greater breadth of audiences at a deeper level. At Beam we measure our success in conversation, community and belonging.

The Role

This isn't a social media manager role. It's a community builder role. You'll be finding the people this entertainment IP was made for, integrating authentically into the spaces they occupy, and giving them somewhere to belong. You'll be doing this for Beam's own IP, as well as for the brands, filmmakers and studios we work with, operating across community strategy and creative execution. You'll be working directly with our founders to help prove that a community-first approach creates both cultural impact and commercial success.

What You'll Actually Do

  • Deep research and understanding of where values-based communities already thrive online and offline.
  • Make strategic recommendations on where and how to integrate authentically into those spaces to grow conversation and connection.
  • Build and manage engaged community spaces from the earliest stages of IP development across key platforms, social and IRL channels.
  • Create and manage content across social and community platforms (may include TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Substack, Discord) for Beam’s master brand, Beam’s IP, and the entertainment IP of our partners.
  • Work with our external marketing and PR partners to connect IP with audiences through social-first storytelling.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest innovation and platforms for community growth and conversation to fuel strategic and creative recommendations.
  • Report results with clear metrics and optimisation suggestions.

What We're Looking For

  • A self starter: you love to listen, learn, get the full context - then go!
  • A true collaborator: you know that truly great work is done through working, creating, debating and laughing with others.
  • Endlessly curious: you ask great questions, challenge assumptions and provide insights. You believe that you’ll never know it all, but you’re excited to learn.
  • Emotionally savvy: You understand that just because something can’t be easily measured, it doesn’t make it less valid. You know the difference between resonance and noise.
  • Socially native: You notice the feed within the feed, revealing when a community is forming around shared language, preferences and norms. You see the intersecting niches across platforms.
  • Community lover: You understand people, you care about values, interests and real connections. You have experience in both facilitating existing communities and building from scratch.
  • Passionate about BEAM’s north star: You believe entertainment can matter, and you're excited to build community for people craving conversation, connection and new narratives.

Must-Haves

  • 3+ years experience in brand social, community management and content creation.
  • Portfolio that shows you've built engaged communities, not just follower counts.
  • Fluent in social and community platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Reddit, Discord, Substack and you naturally pay attention to what comes next.
  • You understand how to build community around shared values, not demographics.
  • Comfortable with contributing towards strategy and love being hands on with creative production/ execution as the project requires (previous experience includes video editing, design, copywriting).
  • Able to create a range of community-first and platform native content with strong instinct for tone of voice.
  • Enjoy working independently with full context, without continual oversight.
  • Data and insight-aware: confident reading channel performance, pulling out insights and using learnings to iterate.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills across multiple stakeholders.
  • Authentic connection to Beam's mission through lived experience or deep empathy.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience with entertainment IP and fandom communities.
  • Experience measuring cultural impact, not just vanity metrics.
  • Experience working with influencers and creators for outreach- includes relationship management and tracking metrics.

What We Offer

  • £35,000 salary.
  • Hybrid UK-based with up to 2 days a week in London.
  • 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays).
  • Equipment/software.
  • Early role at a revenue-generating studio with real momentum.
  • Reporting directly to company founders with decades of entertainment industry experience.
  • A genuine voice - we want your thinking, not just your execution.
  • Grow with the company: this role scales as we scale.
