We are a 7 day a week service – successful candidates should be available to work across both weekdays and weekends. We are currently recruiting for full time staff to work on a home based programme in Hertford North, Hertfordshire. The ideal candidate should have experience in supporting individuals who may display behaviours of concern under an accredited and best-practice framework. You will work as part of a team supporting a young adult with diagnoses of autism and learning disability in Hertford North with a focus on life skills and independence.

We accept experienced graduates, professionals from other disciplines interested in ABA or PBS, and candidates who have previously worked in ABA or PBS settings. BEAM ABA Services support individuals with autism, learning disabilities and complex behavioural needs who display behaviour that challenges. You should be available to work 2-3 waking nights per week (7PM-8AM) and daytime sessions from 8AM-7PM. You must be able to attend initial induction training and ongoing training during day time hours at our London office and overlap daytime sessions in Hertford.

We offer globally-recognised, industry-accredited training and support to give you the confidence and skills necessary to help make a significant positive difference to the lives of young people. You will be fully supervised and should be available to work some evenings and weekends. We require all Beam staff to adhere to our Code of Conduct.

Please note: We can offer visa sponsorship for candidates already living within the UK if you already work in Health and Social Care sector OR if you are currently on a Graduate or Student visa. We CANNOT sponsor overseas candidates at this time.

Duties:
  • To assist in the implementation of person centred programmes utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support best practice.
  • To support service users by teaching functional skills, developing communication systems, enhancing social skills under a framework that provides choice and promotes empowerment.
  • To monitor and take accurate data daily as per service users' targets.
  • To support individuals during times of crisis – e.g., behaviours of concern, providing support as per prescribed Behaviour Support Plan strategies and protocols.
  • To ensure all programme materials are organised and accessible.
  • To assist service user with self-help skills including personal care and hygiene needs (e.g., toileting, nappy changing, feeding, bathing, nail cutting, and medication).
  • To model best practice and professionalism at all times.
  • To attend mandatory trainings, team meetings and self‑directed e‑learning modules.
  • To promote safeguarding and wellbeing for service user to the highest standard.
  • To implement restrictive techniques per service users positive handling plan as required.
  • Flexibility to support service user during evenings and weekends.
  • Other duties as required by your manager.
Required Qualifications And Skills:
  • 2 years of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism.
  • Experience of supporting individuals who are non‑verbal, with experience of promoting alternative modes of communication.
  • Experience of supporting individuals through periods of dysregulation, including episodes of behaviours of concern.
  • Experience of supporting individuals on overnights in their own home and/or in a residential setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field.
  • 3 years of applied experience working with individuals with a diagnosis of learning disability and/or autism.
  • Registered Behaviour Technician – or working towards.
  • Experience utilising ABA methodology.
Benefits:
  • Full‑time positions are available, paid at an hourly rate of £12.82-£14 depending on qualifications and experience, Immediate salary for full-time staff from £25,000- £27,300 based on 37.5 hours working week – overtime hours available.
  • You should have availability to work across evening and nights on weekdays and weekends.

  • 30 days' paid holiday per year pro‑rata plus full training.
  • Discretionary contribution toward professional accreditation – opportunities to get Behaviour Technician [previously RBT] training, MSc in ABA, BCBA/UKBA (cert) supervision, NVQ Level 3, Level 5, Level 7 certification.
