Behaviour Support Therapist - London

We are a 7‑day a week service. Successful candidates must be available to work across both weekdays and weekends, including some 9 PM finishes. We are recruiting full‑time staff for home and community‑based programmes in London (Brent and Camden). The role supports young adults with autism and learning disabilities, focusing on life skills and community participation. Candidates may be experienced graduates, professionals from other disciplines, or have worked in ABA/PBS settings. We adopt a positive risk‑taking approach that promotes independence and improves quality of life.

Please note: We can offer visa sponsorship for candidates already living within the UK who are currently working in the Health and Social Care sector or holding a Graduate or Student visa. We cannot sponsor overseas candidates at this time.

Requirements

• 2 years of applied experience working with individuals diagnosed with learning disability and/or autism.
• Experience supporting non‑verbal individuals and promoting alternative communication modes.
• Experience managing dysregulation and behaviours of concern.

Preferred Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field.
• Clean driver’s licence.
• 3 years of applied experience with learning disability and/or autism.
• Registered Behaviour Technician or working toward the qualification.
• Experience utilising ABA methodology.

Duties

• Assist in implementing person‑centred programmes using ABA and Positive Behaviour Support.
• Support service users by teaching functional skills, developing communication, and enhancing social skills within a choice‑based framework.
• Collect accurate data daily in line with service users’ targets.
• Provide crisis support during episodes of behaviours of concern, following Behaviour Support Plan strategies.
• Maintain organised programme materials.
• Assist with self‑help skills including personal care, hygiene, and medication management.
• Model best practice and professionalism at all times.
• Attend mandatory trainings, team meetings and self‑directed e‑learning modules.
• Promote safeguarding and wellbeing to the highest standard.
• Implement restrictive techniques as required by the service user’s handling plan.
• Provide flexible support during evenings and weekends.
• Perform other duties as required by your manager.

• Full‑time positions available, hourly rate £12.82‑£14, with immediate salary for full‑time staff £25,000‑£27,300 (37.5‑hour week); overtime hours available.
