Beale & Co is seeking a Business Development Assistant to join our growing team.
This is an exciting, varied and hands on role that offers exposure to a wide range of business development and marketing activities.
You will work closely with colleagues, fee earners and partners across our international offices, supporting initiatives that raise the profile of the Firm and strengthen client relationships.

About Beale & Co
Beale & Co provides specialist legal advice to the construction and insurance sectors.
With lawyers spread across offices in London, Bristol, Glasgow, Dublin, Dubai and Toronto, the Firm has a long track record in successfully acting for clients all over the world.
Our teams handle complex international arbitration; professional indemnity disputes; coverage; claims handling; corporate and commercial and contracts and projects advisory matters, with an emphasis on finding the best possible legal and commercial solutions to meet our clients’ needs.
Beale & Co’s business development team currently consists of the Head of Business Development, two Senior Business Development Executives, a Senior CRM Executive, an Events Executive and a Business Development Executive.
Key Responsibilities
Duties will include
- Digital marketing and communications
- Update and maintain website content, including articles, fee earner profiles, legal directory recognitions, news items, events and vacancies.
- Monitor website performance and digital marketing metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate the Firm’s Linked In account, including drafting and scheduling posts, creating graphics and coordinating the weekly communications schedule.
- Assist with the production, publication and distribution of articles, newsletters and marketing campaigns through the Firm’s e-marketing platform.
- Produce regular reports on the performance of digital marketing activity, including website, social media and e-marketing campaigns.
- Events
- Support the Events Executive in the planning, delivery and follow up of events, utilising the Firm’s CRM platform.
- Coordinate the Firm’s sports calendar and seasons ticket allocations.
- Assist with post-event reporting and ROI analysis.
- Administration
- Provide general administrative support to the BD team and the Firm’s BD Groups, including the production of regular BD activity reports, expense administration and coding for approvals and payments where required.
- Ensure BD resources are maintained and filed accordingly, including web CVs, photos, and imagery for marketing collateral.
- Coordinate relevant BD subscriptions and memberships across the Firm, including renewals.
- Support the Senior BD Executives with the legal directory process and maintenance of our credentials database.
- Oversee the firm’s merchandise, ensuring appropriate stock levels are maintained and coordinating orders within agreed budget parameters.
About You
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and eager to develop their career within a law firm.
You will have
- Demonstrable administrative experience in areas linked to the key responsibilities, ideally gained in a similar role.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong written communication and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to form relationships with people inside and outside of the Firm and at all levels.
- Confidence working across multiple projects simultaneously whilst adhering to deadlines.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
- A proactive, collaborative and can-do approach.
- An interest in digital marketing, events and communications.
- Experience of using CRM systems, website content management systems (CMS) and design tools such as Canva would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Demonstrable experience of living the values of our Firm.
