Working closely with the Head of Business Development, act as the primary commercial interface for designated key customer accounts, ensuring alignment with business objectives, maximising customer satisfaction, and securing profitable long-term relationships.

Operating within a fast-paced, precision-driven aerospace manufacturing environment, the role supports the company’s commercial growth strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure delivery excellence and customer satisfaction, operating under strict regulatory and quality requirements.

Key Accountabilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts, building strong, collaborative relationships aligned with both customer and company objectives.
  • Support a range of commercial activities across key accounts, including proposals, quotations, pricing negotiations, and contract reviews.
  • Monitor and manage contract performance, driving adherence to delivery schedules by working closely with internal teams and participating in regular planning sessions.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to ensure on-time delivery and effective resolution of technical, contractual, and logistical challenges.
  • Conduct regular orderbook reviews with customers to ensure the alignment of priorities, maintain visibility of future demand, and identify opportunities to add further value.
  • Track and report on account performance metrics, including orderbook status and value, order intake, risks, opportunities, and customer satisfaction, providing clear insights and forecasts to senior management.
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally, advocating for their needs while balancing wider business priorities.
  • Host customers on site and attend customer locations for account reviews, orderbook alignment, and scoping of current and future work.

Experience and Capabilities

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of engineering and/or manufacturing processes.
  • Confident presenting and reporting to both peers and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working cross-functionally, able to take ownership of tasks and collaborate with technical teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with the ability to build and maintain open, effective communication channels.
  • Clear and concise communication skills, both written and verbal, across multiple formats.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrable capability to plan activities within a manufacturing environment.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of aerospace industry commercial practices.
  • Experience in account management, contract management and negotiation.
  • Growth mindset, able to identify sales opportunities with current customer base.
