The Role

Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you'll lead New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from concept through to full production, ensuring new aerospace products are successfully industrialised and delivered safely, on time and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial teams, you'll drive manufacturing readiness, lead technical problem-solving and support the successful launch of new aerospace programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from concept through to production handover.
  • Develop manufacturing processes, routings, work instructions and industrialisation plans for new aerospace products.
  • Lead first article builds, production trials and process validation activities to achieve Right First Time manufacture.
  • Define manufacturing methods, tooling, fixtures and inspection requirements for new programmes.
  • Support Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) reviews to improve manufacturability and cost.
  • Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain and customers to resolve technical challenges.
  • Support RFQs by preparing manufacturing estimates, labour hours, tooling requirements and feasibility assessments.
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout product introduction and early production phases.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Manufacturing or NPI Engineer with a proven track record of leading aerospace product introduction projects. You'll ideally have:

  • Significant experience leading New Product Introduction (NPI) or Manufacturing Engineering projects within aerospace manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of industrialisation, manufacturing process planning and production readiness.
  • Experience working with sheet metal, metallic structures, aerospace assemblies, welding and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing estimating, tooling design and process validation.
  • Experience supporting DFM/DFA reviews and product launch activities.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, analytical approach with the ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with composites, machining and aerospace special processes would be advantageous.
