We're looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join our team in Christchurch, creating and developing offline CNC programmes for complex precision components.

The Role
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you'll be responsible for the offline programming of CNC machines, supporting the manufacture of precision aerospace components.
Using Solid CAM or CATIA V5, you'll develop CNC programmes, select appropriate tooling, support fixture design and help ensure machining processes are efficient, robust and production-ready.

- What You'll Be Doing
- Create and develop offline CNC programmes using Solid CAM or CATIA V5.
- Programme complex components for 5-axis CNC milling machines.
- Select appropriate tooling and machining strategies to support efficient production.
- Verify CNC programmes using Vericut where applicable.
- Design basic fixtures and special workholding required for manufacture.
- Produce basic CAD models and engineering drawings for internally designed tooling.
- Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing to resolve programming and machining challenges.
- Support improvements to machining methods, programme efficiency and production performance.
About You
We're looking for an experienced CNC professional with a strong understanding of machining and production engineering.
You'll ideally have
- A time-served production engineering or CNC machining background.
- Strong experience with offline CNC programming and CAM software.
- Experience programming 5-axis CNC milling machines using Solid CAM.
- A sound understanding of machining methods, tooling and general production engineering.
- Basic CAD modelling and drafting capability.
- The ability to understand engineering drawings and translate requirements into effective machining programmes.
- Experience with Vericut machine simulation and Fanuc controls would be advantageous but isn't essential.
- Relevant engineering qualifications are preferred; however, candidates with significant practical industry experience will also be considered.
