Learning Support Assistant – Beacon Primary Academy

Unlike many schools where LSAs are assigned solely to support within a single classroom, Beacon Primary Academy operates an innovative and inclusive support model.

Our Learning Support Assistants develop expertise in specific areas of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), becoming specialists who contribute to our whole‑school intervention and inclusion offer both inside and outside the classroom.

  • Your Responsibilities
  • Support pupils individually, in small groups and within whole‑class settings.
  • Deliver evidence‑informed interventions that accelerate progress and improve outcomes.
  • Develop expertise within a SEND specialism and contribute to our inclusive practice across the school.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, leaders, families and external agencies.
  • Build positive relationships that promote confidence, independence and resilience.
  • Help create an environment where every child feels safe, valued and able to achieve their potential.
  • Support the implementation of personalised strategies and provision plans.
