About CAP Life Skills & Money Coaching

CAP Life Skills

CAP Life Skills is a structured group course that takes place over 7/8 weeks. Thecourse helps people build confidence, develop practical life skills, and make positivechanges in everyday life. It is delivered in a supportive group environment andcombines teaching, discussion, and practical application. Typical themes includebudgeting pressures, managing money, wellbeing, relationships, and practical life skillssuch as cooking on a budget.

CAP Money Coaching

CAP Money Coaching provides practical, hands-on support to help participants buildconfidence in managing their finances. It focuses on:

  • Creating and maintaining simple personal budgets
  • Understanding income, spending, and priorities
  • Developing sustainable money habits
  • Applying practical budgeting tools to real-life situations

Sessions may run alongside Life Skills delivery or at other points within theprogramme cycle.

To lead, coordinate, and support the delivery of CAP Life Skills and Money Coachingacross the Beacon CAP Partnership, ensuring programmes are well organised, wellsupported, and provide a positive, engaging and consistent experience for participants,while working flexibly within the rhythms of the local church context.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate CAP Life Skills course delivery
  • Organise and oversee Money Coaching sessions
  • Support and coordinate volunteer involvement in delivery
  • Plan and schedule programme sessions across venues
  • Facilitate or co-facilitate group sessions where appropriate
  • Ensure CAP programme standards and delivery guidelines are followed
  • Act as a key link between CAP, church teams, and volunteers
  • Maintain a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for participants
  • Monitor delivery and contribute to ongoing improvement
  • Support the Team Lead with wider operational tasks as required, Full training and ongoing support will be provided by Christians Against Poverty,

Training and Support

Full training and ongoing support will be provided by Christians Against Poverty, including:

  • CAP Life Skills and Money Coaching training
  • Delivery resources and facilitator materials
  • Ongoing operational support

Requirements

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills
  • Experience leading or supporting teams (paid or voluntary)
  • Confidence facilitating group environments
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A heart for supporting people in community settings
  • Willingness to undertake CAP training, ongoing development and engage with wider CAP events.
  • Ability to work flexibly within a small, part-time team
  • A committed Christian, aligned with the ethos and values of CAP

Desirable Experience

Experience in coaching, teaching, finance, or community work (not essential)
