The academy offers an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, experienced and enthusiastic person to join our team at Beacon Academy as a Senior Educational Welfare Officer as part of a wider attendance improvement team.
Role Summary
The successful candidate will work closely with the wider attendance team and the pastoral leadership team to create new systems and processes to improve attendance levels at the Academy.
Responsibilities
- Meeting and greeting in the morning
- Dealing with late students
- Working with the admin team to review daily attendance
- Conducting home visits
- Holding meetings with parents and students
- Preparing paperwork for legal attendance processes when required
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in a school environment
- Administration experience
- Preferably, an understanding of school attendance systems
All posts are offered subject to enhanced DBS checks. Role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires disclosure of any spent convictions, cautions, warnings or reprimands which are not protected.

Contract and Salary
Permanent Contract – Full time – Term Time Only, plus 5 days required from September 2026. Salary: SCP23 FTE £34,434.
