The predicted salary is between 20000 - 25000 £ per year.

Working Hours/Days: To be agreed with candidate, minimum of 20 hours per week, term time plus inset days; within school operating hours of 8am to 4pm. Part-time role with potential to increase hours to full-time hours for the right candidate at start date or in the future.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and proactive Finance Administration Officer to join our Academy office team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong financial or accounting background who is keen to develop their skills and gain experience across a broad range of finance and administrative functions within a busy educational environment.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the Academy, whilst developing the skills and knowledge required to provide cover for all aspects of the Finance Manager's role when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Finance Support
    • Support the Finance Manager in maintaining all the Academy's financial operations including payroll.
    • Raise, process, and monitor purchase orders and invoices.
    • Chase outstanding invoices and payments.
    • Support delegated budget holders with financial processes.
    • Assist with the administration and reconciliation of petty cash.
    • Support financial processes to ensure appropriate segregation of duties.
    • Complete catering orders and maintain catering account records.
    • Deputise for the Finance Manager as required.
  • Administration Support
    • Order supplies and equipment for the Academy.
    • Support the administration of Academy lettings.
    • Assist with premises administration, including arranging maintenance callouts, repairs, and insurance renewals.
    • Maintain the Academy's Gifts and Hospitality Register.
    • Provide general administrative support to the Finance Manager and wider office team.
    • Undertake a variety of day-to-day administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the Academy.

Appointments will be subject to the receipt of satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS with a barred list check, including an online search, and where necessary, an overseas check (Certificate of Good Conduct). Requirements
  • Have a strong financial or accounting background.
  • Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Be confident using financial systems and Microsoft Office applications including Excel.
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be able to prioritise workloads and work independently.
  • Be keen to learn, develop, and take on additional responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.
