Our client, a UK retail business based in Hertfordshire, is looking to appoint a Legal Counsel to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a 2–5 PQE England & Wales qualified lawyer with strong academics and training within a reputable law firm. The role offers genuine breadth and a high level of responsibility, including:
- Supporting on a range of corporate and transactional matters, including M&A, investments, reorganisations and general corporate advisory work
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements (including supplier, customer and partnership contracts)
- Advising the business on day-to-day legal queries across multiple functions, providing pragmatic, commercially focused guidance
- Assisting with the development and implementation of internal policies and processes
- Supporting on risk management and compliance matters, including regulatory considerations and governance frameworks
- Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, contributing to strategic decision-making
The team is open to lawyers making their first move in-house, as well as those already in-house seeking a broader, more hands-on remit. The business operates a hybrid model (3–4 days in the office), with a well-connected location via Thameslink - making it a realistic option for London-based lawyers, particularly those with easy access to St Pancras.
