A fintech organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team in London. The business operates at the intersection of financial services and technology, delivering innovative digital solutions in a fast-paced, regulated environment. Working closely with senior stakeholders across the organisation, you will provide strategic, commercially focused legal advice across a broad range of matters. Key responsibilities will include:
- Advising on a wide range of commercial contracts, including complex technology, supplier, customer and partnership agreements
- Supporting the business on legal and regulatory considerations relevant to fintech and financial services
- Mentoring and supporting a Legal Counsel who you will work alongside
- Providing input across matters including data protection, intellectual property, and corporate support
- Identifying and managing legal risk while enabling commercial progress
- Partnering with internal teams across Product, Sales, Compliance, Risk and Operations
- Managing external counsel and leading legal workstreams on strategic initiatives
- Educating and upskilling stakeholders on legal and contractual matters where needed
The successful candidate will have:
- 8+ years' PQE (UK qualified or equivalent)
- Experience gained across both private practice and an in-house legal function
- Strong expertise in commercial contracting, ideally within technology, fintech or regulated environments
- Confidence acting as a lead negotiator on complex agreements
- A pragmatic, solutions-driven approach with strong commercial judgement
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work autonomously
