A global entertainment organisation is seeking a solicitor to join its in-house Intellectual Property Enforcement team on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in London. The role will focus on supporting the protection and enforcement of the organisation’s broadcasting and audio-visual rights internationally. The successful candidate will assist with litigation and strategic initiatives aimed at combatting infringement of valuable media rights. Our client operates a hybrid working model, offering flexibility to work remotely for part of the week alongside three days of office attendance.

Working within a specialist legal team, you will support lawyers in implementing enforcement strategies designed to protect the organisation’s audio-visual and media rights across key international territories. Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting civil, criminal and administrative enforcement action relating to intellectual property infringement
  • Assisting with anti-piracy initiatives and awareness campaigns in collaboration with internal communications and marketing teams
  • Liaising with external counsel, law enforcement bodies and broadcasting partners across multiple jurisdictions
  • Supporting engagement with policy makers and regulators to ensure adequate legislative frameworks exist to protect media rights
  • Contributing to a broader global enforcement strategy in collaboration with colleagues across international offices

This role offers the opportunity to work on complex cross-border IP enforcement matters within a fast-paced international environment.

Candidate Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with approximately 5 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Strong academic background and legal training from a recognised law firm or reputable in-house team
  • Solid understanding of intellectual property law
  • Experience in litigation or contentious matters, ideally including IP enforcement
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly to a range of stakeholders
  • A proactive, collaborative and commercially minded approach to problem solving
