An established professional services organisation is looking to hire an experienced Risk & Compliance professional into a Legal Counsel position. This position works closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the business, providing practical guidance on regulatory, compliance and governance matters. The role has a broad remit and will suit someone who enjoys operating in a visible, trusted-advisor capacity within a growing organisation.
Responsibilities
- Advising on a wide range of risk, compliance and regulatory matters
- Supporting sensitive issues and internal reviews with discretion
- Contributing to the development and improvement of risk and governance processes
- Monitoring regulatory developments and helping the business respond to change
- Advising on client onboarding, conflicts and related compliance issues
- Working closely with senior stakeholders across legal and operational teams
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Delivering training and promoting a strong risk culture
About You
- Qualified lawyer in England & Wales
- At least 5 years experience
- Experience in risk and compliance within a law firm environment, financial services or a regulated environment
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and internal controls
- Confident working with senior stakeholders
- Practical, commercial and solutions-focused
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities
