At Beacon, we help pharmaceutical and biotech companies make better, faster decisions through high-quality data and AI-powered insights. Our platform tracks global drug development, clinical trials, companies and deals, providing customers with the intelligence they need to understand their markets and stay ahead of the competition.
This is an excellent opportunity for a life sciences graduate with fluent Mandarin language skills to build a career in research, data analysis and competitive intelligence. You'll play an important role in supporting our Chinese Language Team, helping to curate and quality check data that is used by leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies around the world.
What you'll be doing:
- Support the Chinese Language Team with the triage, translation and curation of Mandarin-language content.
- Review and quality check drug, clinical trial, company and deal records to ensure data accuracy.
- Conduct prospective and retrospective quality control activities across Beacon datasets.
- Provide feedback, training and support to colleagues involved in data capture processes.
- Assist with the production of newsletters, digests, conference reports and other research content.
- Respond to customer and sales queries within agreed timelines.
- Collaborate with researchers, account managers and other stakeholders across the business.
- Monitor scientific and commercial developments across the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
- Support key datasets and workflows when colleagues are absent.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase team efficiency.
What we're looking for:
- Fluent Mandarin language skills (reading, writing and speaking).
- A degree in a Life Sciences subject.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- A proactive, inquisitive mindset and willingness to learn.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A collaborative approach and enjoyment of working as part of a team.
- Resilience and the ability to maintain accuracy when working under pressure.
This role could be a great fit if you've recently graduated in a life sciences discipline and are looking to apply your scientific knowledge in a commercial environment. We're particularly interested in candidates who are naturally curious, enjoy working with data and research, and are eager to develop expertise in the pharmaceutical industry.
Benefits:
- Private health insurance and life assurance.
- Personal learning budget, Employee Assistance Programme and Wellbeing Champions.
- 23 days annual leave, increasing by 1 day per year of service up to 30 days (plus public holidays, a Celebration Day and Christmas Eve).
- Access to our benefits platform offering retail, hospitality, fitness and wellbeing discounts.
- One paid volunteering day per year.
- Monthly socials, celebrations and employee recognition awards.
- Sabbatical opportunities after 2 and 5 years of service.
