Role Description

The Teacher of Geography will deliver engaging and well-structured geography lessons to students across appropriate year groups in this full-time, on-site role based in Dudley. Responsibilities include planning schemes of work, preparing lesson resources, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback to support learning. The role involves maintaining high standards of classroom management, contributing to curriculum development, and participating in department and whole-school initiatives. The teacher will communicate regularly with colleagues, students, and families, and may support co-curricular activities, trips, and fieldwork related to geography. The post holder is expected to uphold the school’s values and safeguarding policies at all times.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Education and Teaching, with experience delivering geography or related subjects.
  • Proficiency in Lesson Planning and Training, including designing differentiated learning activities and supporting varied student needs.
  • Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex geographical concepts clearly and build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
  • Relevant degree in Geography or a closely related discipline, and a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE or equivalent).
  • Experience using assessment data to inform teaching and support student progress, including familiarity with relevant examination specifications.
  • Competence with classroom technology and digital learning tools to enhance teaching and student engagement.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and ongoing professional development within a diverse school community.
