About this Role

The Lighthouse Multi Academy Trust wishes to appoint a compassionate, dedicated, and proactive Learning Support Assistant to join Lindens Academy. Lindens Academy is a mainstream setting with an Additional Resource Provision for supporting pupils with complex medical needs and physical disabilities. This is a temporary post linked to funding.

It is a welcoming and inclusive academy, serving children aged 3 to 11 in Streetly, part of the Walsall community. We are extremely proud to be part of the Lighthouse Multi Academy Trust, working collaboratively to inspire and support every child's learning journey.

Our friendly and dedicated staff work closely with families and the wider community to nurture a positive learning environment where children flourish.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support pupils with complex medical needs and physical disabilities in both the classroom and wider academy environment.
  • Assist pupils to access learning activities, adapting support to meet individual needs.
  • Provide personal care where required throughout the day with dignity and respect.
  • Be willing to receive additional manual handling training to support the safe transfer and movement of pupils, including using specialist equipment when necessary.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver high-quality support.
  • Promote inclusion, independence and wellbeing for all pupils.
  • Facilitate Physical Management plans as part of the provision.

We are looking for an individual with

  • Experience of working with children with additional needs
  • Minimum Level 2 qualification which is a Department for Education (DfE) recognised Early Years qualification, or equivalent qualification or relevant experience that meets the approved Early Years requirements in England.
