Who we are: Beach is a tight-knit branding and graphic design studio based in the heart of Clerkenwell, EC1. We're a team of 6 who work with both ambitious start-ups and well-established brands with the kind of clients who want design that actually makes a mark in the world. We're proud of what we make and we care deeply about how we make it. We nurture an entrepreneurial spirit here. Everyone on the team has real ownership of their work, real access to the team around them, and real variety in what they do. It's a small studio, and that's very much by design.
The opportunity: We're looking for an Account Manager to join us, someone who loves the craft of account management as much as we love design. You'll be the central nervous system of the studio: keeping projects moving, clients informed and happy, briefs clear and thorough, and the team set up to do their best work. You'll report to Jos, our Account Director, and work closely with Woody, our Creative Director. Day to day, that means managing timelines and workflow, building proposals, liaising with clients and suppliers, and making sure the design team always has everything they need. You'll be client-side throughout, so strong relationships and confident communication matter a lot here. This is a brilliant role for the right person. You'll work across branding, packaging, digital design and illustration, for clients with genuine ambition and a team that takes the work seriously and has a lot of fun doing it.
Your responsibilities:
- Maximise the creative team's workload efficiency by monitoring studio capacity and streamlining the work process
- Build and review all creative briefs and proposals, ensuring they are clear and thorough
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with clients, freelancers, print partners and suppliers
- Source, manage and negotiate with third-party fulfilment partners
- Inspire and motivate the design team to deliver projects to the best of their ability
- Liaise with the Account Director to tailor resources to workflow, booking in freelancers and other support where necessary
- Be client-side throughout all project timelines with the Account Director
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a brand or graphic design studio of a similar size (circa 5–15 people), with a genuine desire to work in a small, high-ownership team
- A ruthlessly forensic work ethic and a genuine love for organisation, planning and time management
- Confident and capable with Asana, Figma, Webflow, Squarespace, Pitch and Adobe CC
- A genuine self-starter with a positive can-do attitude. This is paramount
- Collaborative and happy to work across a range of roles and people, without ego
- A love for problem-solving and a flair for handling complex client briefs
- Confident communicator and negotiator, with a real appetite to learn
- A thorough end-to-end understanding of the design process
How to apply: Send your CV and a short cover letter of no more than one page, to jobs@beach.studio. Your cover letter should address two things specifically:
- A piece of work in Beach’s portfolio, or a client on our roster, that you genuinely admire. Tell us what draws you to how Beach approaches that kind of work, not what it says on our website, but what you actually think.
- One Account Management challenge you’ve solved that you’re proud of, and what it says about how you work.
