About 81 Beach Street
81 Beach Street has been part of Deal’s food scene for many years and is loved by locals as well as the growing number of visitors discovering the town. We’re busy year-round and are known for our warm service, consistent standards, and friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
This role is becoming available because our current Front of House Manager, who has been with us for a long time, is moving into a different role to allow her to spend more time at home with her family. She leaves the restaurant in a strong position, with a well-trained team and solid systems already in place.
The Role
We’re looking for an experienced and confident Front of House Manager to take over the day-to-day running of the front-of-house operation. This is a hands-on role, leading from the floor and building on the strong foundations already in place. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef and be supported by our Head of Venues, with the freedom to bring your own ideas while maintaining the standards our guests expect.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading, motivating, and developing the front-of-house team
- Creating a welcoming atmosphere for regular guests and visitors alike
- Maintaining high service standards during busy services
- Managing bookings, floor plans, and service flow
- Driving sales, managing labour, and working towards financial targets
- Working closely with the kitchen team to ensure a smooth, consistent service
What We’re Looking For
- Experience as an Assistant Manager, or Front of House Manager in a busy restaurant
- A hands-on leader who enjoys being on the floor
- Strong people skills and confidence managing a team
- Good organisation, time management, and commercial awareness
- Calm and positive under pressure
