We’re looking for a brilliant Assistant Manager to join the team at The Granville. Average 40 hours per week over 5 days. £14.90 – £15.50 per hour + tips (Salary also possible). The Granville is a busy premium pub and restaurant just outside Canterbury, known for great food, warm service, and a genuinely lovely team culture. We’re part of Beach Street Restaurants, an independent hospitality group with a strong focus on standards, people, and doing things properly.
This role is ideal for someone who already has experience in a quality hospitality environment and is ready to take the next step in leadership. You’ll work closely with the Front of House Manager and wider management team to help lead the day-to-day operation of the venue. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be expected to lead shifts confidently, support and develop the team, and help drive standards across service, organisation, and guest experience.
What the role involves:
- Running smooth, organised FOH shifts
- Leading from the floor during busy services
- Supporting team training and development
- Managing bookings, guest expectations, and communication between FOH and kitchen
- Helping manage labour, rotas, and operational organisation
- Supporting venue KPIs, standards, and 90-day plans
- Taking ownership of specific management areas such as labour, wet GP, events, or training
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has strong front of house experience in a busy premium pub or restaurant
- Is calm, organised, and proactive under pressure
- Has natural warmth and brilliant guest interaction skills
- Leads by example and enjoys developing people
- Has good attention to detail and strong standards
- Is confident using systems and technology
