We are a highly rated seaside hotel on the Northumberland Coast, proudly ranked within the top 10% of hotels globally on TripAdvisor. Following a recent refurbishment of our bar and restaurant, we are now looking for a talented Head Chef to take full ownership of our kitchen and lead the next phase of our food offering.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role within a small but ambitious kitchen team. You will be responsible for shaping and delivering a high-quality, seasonal menu that reflects our coastal location and premium positioning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Creating and evolving seasonal menus using fresh, locally sourced produce
- Managing food costs, GP margins, and supplier relationships
- Leading, training, and developing a motivated kitchen team
- Overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and quality
- Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene, and compliance
- Working closely with management to continuously improve the food offering
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Senior Sous Chef ready to step up
- Background in hotel or quality-led, high-volume kitchens
- Strong understanding of food costing, GP, and kitchen financials
- Passion for seasonal food and menu development
- A confident leader with a hands-on approach to team development
- Solid knowledge of Food Safety and HACCP procedures
- Flexible and reliable, able to work a 5-from-7 rota including weekends
