About the Role
An established UK-wide property business is seeking a
Head of Commercial to lead its property function. The team operates nationally from its Nottingham headquarters, delivering a broad range of services to owners, agents, and stakeholders.
This is a key leadership role focused on insolvency-led valuations and disposals , with exposure to a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial property, land and luxury property.
- The Function
- The property team is led by Chartered Surveyors and offers expertise across:
- Appraisals & Valuations (leases and property)
- Auctions
- Private Treaty disposals
- Property Management
- Maintenance and Security
- Probate Services
- Commercial & Residential Property Clearances
Clients include solicitors, LPA receivers, landlords, and private individuals , with a strong emphasis on professional and discreet service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
• Undertake and oversee valuations across
- Commercial property (office, industrial, retail)
- Residential assets and portfolios
- Development land and strategic sites
- Leasehold interests (occasional)
- Provide pragmatic valuation advice in insolvency and distressed scenarios
- Deliver defensible pricing to support disposal strategies
- Work in a commercially focused environment (limited formal Red Book reporting)
• Lead asset disposals via

- Maximise returns through strategic positioning and pricing
- Navigate distressed markets with confidence
- Leadership & Team Management
- Manage and mentor a team of 3 surveyors within a small office environment
- Oversee processes, quality, and delivery standards
- Provide technical leadership and support development of junior staff
- Act as the senior lead within the Nottingham office
- Business Development

- Build and maintain relationships within the insolvency and restructuring sector
