Rural Surveyor / Land Agent
Inverness & Highlands | Hybrid Working
Competitive Salary + Relocation Support
Are you looking for a rural surveying role offering genuine variety, responsibility and the chance to work across one of Scotland's most interesting rural markets?
Beach Baker is working with an established and well-regarded rural property consultancy looking to strengthen its team in the Inverness area.
This is a broad Rural Surveyor / Land Agent opportunity suited to someone who enjoys variety rather than being restricted to one specialism. You'll advise a diverse range of rural clients across the Highlands, with work spanning estate management, landlord & tenant, valuation, renewable energy, utilities, natural capital and strategic land advice.
The opportunity could suit an MRICS-qualified Rural Surveyor, someone progressing towards qualification, or an experienced rural property professional looking to take the next step in their career.
The Role
Working as part of an experienced rural team, you'll manage and support a portfolio of clients across the Highlands and wider region.
Depending on your experience, your work could include:
- Rural estate and property management
- Agricultural and rural landlord & tenant matters
- Property sales and acquisitions
- RICS Red Book valuations and appraisals
- Compensation, wayleaves, servitudes and access agreements
- Renewable energy projects, including wind, hydro, solar and battery storage
- Forestry, natural capital and rural diversification
- Strategic land and development-related opportunities
- Building and maintaining long-term client relationships
It's a role offering real breadth and autonomy, with the opportunity to develop your own areas of expertise while working alongside experienced colleagues across complementary disciplines.
About You
We're interested in speaking with people from a broad range of rural surveying, land agency and estate management backgrounds.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Experience in rural surveying, estate management, land agency or a closely related discipline
- MRICS or AssocRICS status, or a desire to work towards professional qualification
- Good knowledge of the rural property sector
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- The ability to manage your own workload and client relationships
- A practical, commercially aware approach
- A full UK driving licence
RICS Registered Valuer and/or FAAV status would be advantageous but isn't essential.
Why Consider It?
This isn't a narrow surveying position. The attraction is the range of work and clients, coupled with the opportunity to build a long-term career in the Highlands.
You can expect:
- Competitive salary and benefits
- Assistance with relocation for the right candidate
- Hybrid and flexible working
- Car allowance where appropriate
- Generous holiday entitlement
- Pension and life assurance
- Support towards professional qualifications
- Professional membership and CPD support
- Genuine scope to develop technically and commercially
- A supportive, collaborative working environment
Location
The role is based in the Inverness area, working with clients across the Highlands. Hybrid working is available, and relocation assistance can be considered for someone looking to make a move to the region.
This could be particularly attractive to a rural surveyor looking for greater variety, more autonomy and the opportunity to build a career in the Scottish Highlands.
