A leading multi-disciplinary property and land consultancy is seeking an ambitious Associate Rural Chartered Surveyor to take on a pivotal role within their Shrewsbury office. This organisation offers a full suite of services across valuation, business consultancy, planning, architecture and building surveying, working collaboratively to help clients unlock the value and potential of their rural assets. You will be joining a well-established team with the benefit of national expertise and local autonomy. The Opportunity
This is a strategic and commercially focused leadership role, suited to an MRICS-qualified professional who can combine technical excellence with business development and team leadership. You will act as a senior figure within the office - visible, trusted, and instrumental in shaping the firm's rural consultancy presence in the region. Alongside this, you will remain actively involved in delivering high-quality fee-earning work and helping to drive excellent client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a go-to technical expert within the Rural Surveying team.
- Lead on complex estate and rural asset strategies for landowners, institutions and investors.
- Deliver high-quality professional rural consultancy work.
- Identify growth opportunities, build networks and support the expansion of the rural service offering.
- Maintain involvement in fee-earning work while supporting the team in delivering expert advice.
- Mentor and develop junior and mid-level colleagues.
- Ensure compliance with RICS standards, agricultural policy and environmental legislation.
- Contribute to improved efficiency, productivity and profitability within the team.
Strategic Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a clear growth strategy for the rural consultancy team in Shrewsbury and the wider region.
- Drive revenue growth through both new business and strengthened existing relationships.
- Support the firm's market positioning as a leading rural consultancy provider in the region.
- Identify opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration across planning, development, valuation and architectural services.
- Critically assess current service provision to identify gaps and new market opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with landowners, investors, institutions and developers to secure sustainable new instructions.
- Represent the business at industry events and forums as a confident ambassador.

- Proven track record in business development and client growth
- Demonstrable leadership and team development experience
- Commercially astute with strong financial understanding

- Confident, resilient and comfortable operating at senior level

- Full UK driving licence (essential)
Working Arrangements
- 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday
