With a strong presence in the Defence sector, they are expanding their Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) team, currently comprising 13 specialists within a wider 33-person Defence team.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Cost Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering high-value cost consultancy services within the Defence sector. This is a unique opportunity to work on strategic national defence projects, contributing to the UK\’s defence estate transformation.

You will be responsible for leading cost management services across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility through to final account, while mentoring junior team members and engaging directly with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end cost management services on Defence-related projects.
  • Provide strategic cost advice to clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage cost plans, estimates, and procurement strategies.
  • Lead contract administration and post-contract cost control.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across the business.
  • Support business development and client relationship management.
  • Mentor and support junior team members within the DIO team.

About You

  • MRICS qualified with a strong background in cost consultancy.
  • Proven experience in the Defence, Infrastructure, or Public Sector.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
