Rural Surveyor – East of England (Home-Based)
Β£39,205 – Β£49,813 per annum

This is a fantastic opportunity for a self-motivated professional to take ownership of a varied portfolio, working across land management, acquisitions, disposals, and risk mitigation. You\’ll be part of a collaborative national team, with the flexibility to work from home and travel across the region.

Key Responsibilities

Land & Property Management

  • Oversee rural property matters including rent reviews, leases, licences, and land management contracts
  • Provide expert advice on agricultural systems and agri-environment schemes
  • Negotiate wayleaves, easements, and landlord consents

Acquisitions & Disposals

  • Lead on the acquisition of land and property for operational and strategic purposes
  • Manage valuations and negotiations for purchases, leases, and disposals

Risk & Compliance

  • Support internal audits and ensure compliance with grant schemes
  • Help develop systems to manage legal, financial, and reputational risks

Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with surveyors, area managers, and project teams
  • Share knowledge and best practices across a national network
  • Provide on-site advice to optimise land use and financial returns

Candidate Profile

  • Chartered Surveyor (RICS Rural or equivalent)
  • Strong post-qualification experience in rural estate management
  • Knowledge of agricultural subsidies and cross-compliance in England
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required
