We're working with a well-established and highly successful property business with a significant and diverse UK portfolio who are now seeking an experienced Planning Manager to join their growing development team. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded planning professional to take a leading role across a wide range of residential, mixed-use, and commercial schemes, helping drive projects from acquisition through to consent.
The Role
You will be a key voice within the business, providing strategic planning advice and leading on applications across multiple projects. This is a hands‑on position with real influence, offering exposure to the full development lifecycle within an entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning applications, appeals, and pre‑application strategies
- Advise on planning risk and opportunity at acquisition and feasibility stages
- Coordinate planning submissions and manage consultant teams
- Build and maintain relationships with local authorities and key stakeholders
- Monitor planning policy and identify risks and opportunities across the portfolio
- Represent the business at planning committees and consultations
- Support and mentor junior team members
- Contribute to wider development and growth strategy
About You
- Degree qualified in Planning or a related discipline
- MRTPI qualified (or working towards)
- 7+ years' planning experience (client‑side, consultancy, or developer)
- Strong track record delivering complex applications
- Commercially focused with a pragmatic, solutions‑led approach
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills
- Able to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment
