Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Lead Estimator / Senior Cost Consultant to join a high-performing team.

This is an opportunity to work at the forefront of project delivery, providing strategic estimating, cost planning and commercial advice on high-value, technically complex schemes.

The Role

As a Lead Estimator, you will be responsible for producing and assuring cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle, supporting clients with informed decision-making and cost certainty.

Key responsibilities include

  • Developing robust estimates and cost plans from concept through to delivery.
  • Preparing first-principles estimates, benchmarking exercises and cost assurance reviews.
  • Producing Bills of Quantities (Bo Qs), supporting documentation and estimating methodologies.
  • Managing estimate deliverables and coordinating with multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Reviewing third-party estimates, tender submissions and target cost proposals.
  • Supporting risk identification, opportunity assessments and project controls activities.
  • Providing cost advice to procurement, commercial, project management and stakeholder teams.

About You

We are interested in speaking with professionals who possess

Essential

  • Significant experience in estimating, cost planning or quantity surveying across a broad range of assets.
  • Experience delivering estimates across multiple project stages and procurement routes.
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills.
  • Advanced analytical, reporting and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and cost management systems expertise.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • MRICS or registered valuer status.
  • Knowledge of Cost X, RIB, Candy, Power BI, SPONS or similar estimating software.
  • Experience leading teams and providing technical oversight.
