Development Manager- Site Acquisition

My client is a dynamic and forward-thinking development company specialising in the healthcare sector. With a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects, they are committed to meeting the growing demand for healthcare facilities while maintaining the highest standards of sustainability and innovation.

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Development Manager to join their team. This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, acquiring sites, and driving the development of healthcare facilities across the UK., 1. Business Development:

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the healthcare sector, including private medical, care homes, and specialist facilities.

• Build and maintain relationships with landowners, agents, and other stakeholders to source development opportunities.

• Develop and implement strategies to target high-potential areas for new projects.

1. Site Acquisition:

• Conduct market research to identify viable sites for healthcare developments.

• Undertake site appraisals, due diligence, and feasibility studies, including planning, environmental, and technical constraints.

• Negotiate heads of terms, options, and land purchase agreements to secure sites for development.

1. Development Oversight:

• Manage projects from site acquisition, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards.

• Work closely with architects, planners, contractors, and consultants to deliver projects that meet client and regulatory requirements.

• Oversee planning applications and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and guidelines.

1. Stakeholder Engagement:

• Maintain strong relationships with clients, investors, and local authorities to facilitate successful project delivery.

• Hold meetings, presentations, and networking events to enhance the company’s profile.

• Proven experience in site acquisition, property development, or surveying, ideally within the healthcare or a related sector.

• Strong understanding of planning processes, property law, and development finance.

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships.

• Commercial awareness and the ability to identify and capitalize on new opportunities.

• A proactive and driven approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• RICS accreditation or similar professional qualification is desirable but not essential., * Degree in property, surveying, real estate, or a related field.

• Driving license and willingness to travel.
