Beach Baker is delighted to be working with a highly regarded and progressive property consultancy to recruit a Plant & Machinery Surveyor to join their growing Asset Advisory team across the South West & Wales. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Surveyor or Associate Director-level professional who is ambitious, commercially minded, and keen to develop a long-term career specialising in the valuation and disposal of machinery and business assets. The team provides specialist advice to a wide range of clients including financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, accountants, lenders, and corporate organisations. The role offers exposure to varied and interesting work across multiple industrial sectors, combining both valuation and asset disposal projects.
Opportunity
You will be part of a collaborative and well-established regional team, working across the South West & Wales. The position offers a mix of office, site-based, and client‑facing responsibilities, ensuring no two days are the same.
Key elements of the role include:
- Undertaking valuations of plant, machinery, and business assets for a variety of purposes
- Supporting asset disposal strategies, including sales and clearances
- Visiting and inspecting businesses across a range of industry sectors
- Working closely with a diverse client base including lenders and insolvency professionals
- Contributing to business development and client relationship management
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the day-to-day management and delivery of casework
- Liaise and correspond with clients and stakeholders
- Undertake site inspections and surveys
- Support the preparation of detailed valuation reports
- Research and analyse comparable evidence and sales data
- Assist with the marketing and sale of businesses, assets, and machinery
About You
- Previous experience within plant & machinery valuation or a related sector is desirable but not essential
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines effectively
- Proactive, inquisitive, and confident in problem-solving
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Strong analytical capability, particularly using Microsoft Excel
- Competent across Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Enthusiastic and motivated to learn and develop within the sector
