The client is a substantial landed estate, extending to several thousand acres, centred around a nationally significant historic property which remains in private family ownership. The estate is located in Hampshire, close to a market town and within easy reach of Southampton, Winchester and the wider South Coast. The estate operates as a diversified rural business, with interests spanning:
- Residential property letting
- Commercial and estate business space
- Agricultural and grazing land
- Sporting and leisure activities
- Sustainability and green energy initiatives
- Events, filming and other diversified income streams
Working closely with the senior estate management team, the Assistant Estate Manager will be involved in a broad range of both operational and strategic activities. Key responsibilities are likely to include:
- Assisting in the management of residential, commercial and rural property assets
- Supporting estate development and diversification initiatives
- Liaising with tenants, contractors and professional advisers
- Contributing to sustainability and green energy projects
- Assisting with budgeting, reporting and estate administration
- Taking ownership of defined projects, with increasing autonomy as experience grows
We are keen to speak with candidates who can demonstrate:
- MRICS and/or CAAV qualification, or strong relevant estate management experience
- The confidence to manage tasks and projects independently
- Commercial awareness and sound judgement
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A proactive, resourceful and collaborative approach
- Ambition and a desire to build a long‑term career in estate management
This role will suit someone who is keen to learn, contribute ideas and take on responsibility, while working as part of a supportive in‑house team.
This position offers:
- Exposure to a large, diverse and well‑managed private estate
- A broad and varied estate management role
- Clear scope for professional growth and increased responsibility
