Overview A client in the retail sector is seeking a talented PR & Copywriting Executive to join their marketing team. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role offers an opportunity to shape the brand\’s public relations strategy and create engaging copy across various channels. The client is a family-owned business with a strong ethical ethos, known for delivering quality products and excellent customer service. They are now looking to grow their reputation further by enhancing their PR efforts and storytelling capabilities. Job Purpose As a PR & Copywriting Executive, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality, engaging copy and driving effective PR initiatives to strengthen the brand\’s presence. This role involves building relationships with key media contacts, responding to press enquiries, and managing both traditional and digital PR efforts. With a flair for storytelling and a deep understanding of audience needs, you will also collaborate with the wider marketing team to develop content for campaigns, product launches, and brand activities. Main Responsibilities PR Strategy and Execution: Build and maintain relationships with key members of the press. Support the implementation of the PR strategy in collaboration with the marketing team. Research, write, and distribute press releases, and handle media enquiries. Drive the transition from traditional PR methods to digital PR opportunities. Monitor, analyse, and report on media/press coverage, using analytics tools to evaluate effectiveness. Secure and share press coverage with key stakeholders. Pitch stories to national and local media contacts. Internal Communications: Support the Head of Marketing in developing effective internal communications to enhance engagement with staff and suppliers. Content Creation: Write engaging and SEO-optimised content for various digital and printed materials, including: Product descriptions Social media copy Brochures and email campaigns Blogs and guides Maintain a consistent tone of voice across all content. Proofread and edit content for clarity and impact. Generate performance reports for PR activities and provide recommendations based on insights. Core Qualifications/Skills 2-3 years of experience in a PR or copywriting role. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proven ability to develop and deliver PR and marketing campaigns that enhance business performance. Strong attention to detail, with the ability to write for a range of platforms and audiences. Proficiency in proofreading and copywriting for digital channels. Ability to meet tight deadlines and work collaboratively in a team environment. Desirable Attributes A qualification in Journalism, Creative Media, or Marketing (e.g., bachelor\’s degree or CIM accreditation). Experience creating content for diverse marketing channels. Familiarity with e-commerce and marketing environments. Proficiency with tools such as Meltwater, Brand Watch, SEMrush, or Ahrefs.
