We are seeking a Consultant / Change Manager to work with a large corporate organisation, analysing where traditional payment methods (bank transfer/ACH, cheque, manual payments) can be transitioned to card-based payments such as commercial and virtual cards. This is an internal consulting-style role: you'll be embedded with the client, working across Finance, Procurement, AP and Technology to shape and deliver a practical payments change programme.

Contract: Initial 6-month contract (with potential to extend, subject to programme need)

The Opportunity: Large corporates still use a mix of payment rails for supplier payments - and there is often significant scope to increase "carded" spend (i.e., replacing non-card payments with commercial/virtual card payments), improving controls, efficiency and supplier experience. You'll combine analysis, stakeholder engagement, and delivery, translating opportunity into adoption and measurable outcomes.

What You'll Do:

  • Drive adoption of card-based payments (commercial/virtual cards) to shift spend from bank transfer/ACH, cheque and manual payment processes
  • Identify and size opportunities across tail spend, recurring spend, and strategic suppliers for embedded card payments
  • Partner with Procurement, Accounts Payable, Finance/Treasury and Technology to embed card payments into ERP / P2P / procurement platforms
  • Design practical payment strategies that fit existing workflows and controls (e.g., PayonRequest / PayonPO / PayonInvoice)
  • Build executive-ready recommendations focused on outcomes: efficiency, better controls, working capital, and supplier experience
  • Support supplier enablement approaches to increase card acceptance and reduce onboarding friction
  • Lead stakeholder engagement with clear, confident communication and sound judgement
  • Track delivery: translate ideas into actionable plans, monitoring adoption and value realisation

What We're Looking For: We're open to candidates from consulting, in-house transformation, procurement, AP, treasury, or payments, provided you can operate as a credible internal consultant/change lead. Ideal background includes:

  • Consulting or change management experience (internal consulting, transformation, adoption, operating model, process change)
  • Familiarity with B2B payments / commercial cards / corporate cards / virtual cards (or strong exposure to corporate payables and supplier payment processes)
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to turn analysis into clear recommendations, and recommendations into action

Interested? If you're a Consultant or Change Manager with payments/payables exposure and enjoy delivering practical change inside a corporate environment, we'd love to hear from you.
