A well established organisation in the transport and logistics sector is seeking a Transport Planner (Team Lead) to join its head office in Central Scotland, near Edinburgh. This full‑time position offers a salary of circa £38,500 per annum (DOE) plus bonus, with working hours of Monday to Friday, 7am–5.30pm, and participation in an on call rota one Saturday morning in every four.
The role involves coordinating a busy fleet, scheduling daily vehicle movements, ensuring compliance with transport regulations, and maintaining clear communication with drivers and internal teams. Confidence with Microsoft Office and digital systems is desirable.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and allocate daily work to drivers efficiently and cost‑effectively, using a range of systems
- Oversee tipper operations to maintain service levels and operational continuity
- Support drivers and provide clear, practical guidance
- Work collaboratively with fellow planners/team leaders across different fleet areas
- Maintain Health & Safety and transport compliance standards
- Manage driver‑related administration, including holidays, sickness, payroll information and performance notes
