This role sits within a newly established team, offering an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of retrofit and investment programmes as the service continues to grow. Through property assessments and customer engagement, you'll gather the information that supports investment decisions and energy efficiency improvements, helping customers live in homes that are warmer, safer and more affordable to run. This is an opportunity to combine technical expertise with a people-focused approach while contributing to a more sustainable future. Key Responsibilities Carry out retrofit assessments, property inspections and occupancy assessments in line with programme requirements and industry standards. Collect, validate and accurately record property, condition and energy performance data, including survey information, photographs and supporting evidence. Identify and report property defects, damp and mould indicators, ventilation concerns, heating issues and any factors that may affect retrofit works or customer outcomes. Provide clear assessment findings and recommendations to support retrofit planning, investment decisions and programme delivery. Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors and stakeholders to support the successful delivery of retrofit and planned investment programmes. Deliver a positive customer experience by communicating professionally and working sensitively within occupied homes, taking account of individual needs and circumstances. Maintain accurate records and appropriately escalate health and safety, safeguarding, vulnerability or access concerns in line with organisational procedures. What you'll need to succeed A Retrofit Assessor or Domestic Energy Assessor qualification, or equivalent experience in property surveying, energy assessment, stock condition surveying, planned works or housing compliance. Experience of carrying out property, stock condition, energy, repairs, compliance or housing-related surveys. Knowledge of domestic building construction, property condition and energy performance, with the ability to identify defects and issues relating to damp and mould, ventilation and heating systems. Strong communication and customer service skills, with experience of working respectfully and effectively with customers in occupied homes. The ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks and work to deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. Confidence using digital systems and Microsoft 365 applications to record, manage and share information effectively.
