Requirements for Nursery Room Leader:

  • Previous experience as a Deputy Room Leader.
  • A positive, welcoming attitude and good communication skills.
  • Commitment to delivering a high level of childcare and customer service.
  • Excellent personal presentation standards.
  • Ability to work effectively and positively as part of a team.

Main responsibilities:

  • Working effectively in partnership with other team members, parents and outside professionals.
  • Partaking in the nursery’s daily routine and ensuring the highest level of childcare is being delivered.
  • Organise the daily running of the room, including staff breaks, outings, reviewing observations, completing the rota etc.
  • Supporting and motivating your team with team effectiveness strategies.
  • Ensuring that the children in the nursery are safe at all times and being vigilant for signs of abuse or neglect.
  • Completing regular training to progress personal and professional development.
