We are supporting one of Scotland's biggest Law firms seeking a Data Protection Officer. They recognise that as data protection continues to evolve, their dedicated team is guiding the organisation and its various sectors through the complexities of privacy law.
As a Data Protection Officer, you’ll act as an outsourced DPO for a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors. You’ll be the trusted expert clients rely on—providing clear, pragmatic advice and helping organisations confidently navigate an evolving data protection landscape. You’ll work closely with legal, IT, and risk specialists, delivering commercially focused guidance while building long-term client relationships.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the primary DPO contact for assigned clients, managing day-to-day data protection and GDPR matters
- Advise on privacy law, compliance, data breaches, subject access requests, and regulatory risk
- Conduct gap analyses and develop corrective action plans
- Draft and review policies, procedures, and data processing agreements
- Deliver client training and support internal knowledge sharing
What We’re Looking For
- A background in Law, Information Security, Risk, or equivalent professional experience
- A recognised data protection qualification (CIPM, CIPP/E) or c.4+ years’ experience in a senior data protection or privacy role
- Strong GDPR and data protection expertise with the ability to translate regulation into practical advice
- Confident stakeholder management skills, including experience working with senior leadership
