This is a role for senior and principal engineers who want to have a big impact on building a product and the overall direction of a fast-scaling AI business. You’ll be joining at a point where the product is already gaining real momentum, but early enough that engineers can still have meaningful influence on what gets built and how it gets built.
The company is building an AI-native platform with global ambition, aimed at changing how a major industry works. AI is not a side project here; it is central to the product and the engineering culture. This role will suit someone who enjoys ownership, pace, ambiguity and being part of a scale-up journey where the next few years could carry real career value.
Technically, we are looking for strong full stack engineers with experience building modern web products. React and TypeScript are key on the front end. Experience with APIs, cloud platforms, scalability, performance and good engineering judgement will all be valuable.
What they are looking for:
- Strong experience building web-based software in product-led environments.
- Good React and TypeScript experience.
- Backend experience across Node.js, Python, Java, Go or C#.
- Engineers who enjoy responsibility, pace and working beyond a narrow lane.
- Interest in AI-native product development, modern AI tooling and agentic coding techniques - Claude Code, Cursor, Codex...
This is an Edinburgh-based role. ✨Brush Up on Your Coding Skills
For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.
✨Know Your Tools and Frameworks
Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If Be-IT uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.
