This is a key hire for a business that’s right in the middle of a major digital transformation. They’re overhauling their core systems, migrating from on-premise to cloud, and rebuilding their architecture from the ground up using modern Microsoft technologies. They’re looking for a Solution Architect who’s not only able to set direction but also keen to be hands-on in making it happen. This is a role for someone who wants to deliver real change, not just advise from the sidelines.

You’ll take ownership of architecture across applications, data and integrations. You’ll work closely with the CTO, lead on strategy, and guide a 50-person tech team. You’ll also be a mentor, coach and a visible leader across the business – someone who can bring people with them and inspire confidence in the direction of travel.

The work is challenging and wide-ranging: legacy systems to modernise, new cloud platforms to implement, integrations to redesign, and business stakeholders who need practical, outcomes-focused solutions.

What you can expect

  • Salary between £95k - £105k, plus bonus and full benefits
  • Leadership-level role with direct reporting to the CTO
  • Clear visibility and influence across the organisation
  • Flexibility with hybrid working – 2 days a week in the Edinburgh office
  • A say in architecture strategy, delivery and team development
  • Responsibility for shaping the app and integration roadmap
  • The chance to help steer a fast-moving transformation from the front

Day-to-day responsibilities

  • Lead enterprise architecture design across applications, data and integrations
  • Own and deliver a modern integration strategy
  • Support ERP migration and app modernisation projects
  • Provide hands-on leadership and technical guidance to the delivery teams
  • Influence platform and tooling decisions – including low-code, SaaS and Microsoft tech
  • Work with business stakeholders to ensure architecture aligns to real-world needs
  • Be involved in delivery – not just governance – and lead by example

Tech environment

  • Microsoft-focused: Azure, Dynamics, Power Platform, Fabric
  • Integration with tools like Salesforce and other SaaS platforms
  • Cloud migration already underway, with a strong focus on applications and data
  • Practical, delivery-first culture – focused on results over process

What they’re looking for

  • Significant experience in a senior architecture or technology leadership role
  • A strong track record in application design, integration and cloud architecture
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft platforms and low-code tools
  • Someone who can engage across the business – influencing at all levels
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment with legacy and modern systems
  • A hands-on leader who mentors, guides and delivers – not just advises
  • Pragmatic and outcome-oriented – able to simplify complexity and drive progress

If you’re looking for an opportunity to lead meaningful change, shape architecture from the ground up, and work with a business that values delivery over bureaucracy, this is a role worth exploring.
