6 Month Contract | Outside IR35 | Glasgow or surrounding areas
We are looking for an experienced Disaster Recovery professional to join a well-established Business Continuity function for a large enterprise client. This is a 6 month contract, engaged outside IR35, and you'll need to be based in or around Glasgow as you are likely to be onsite 2-3 days per week.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning, coordinating and running Disaster Recovery tests across a range of technical environments.
- Working closely with infrastructure, application and technical teams to ensure recovery solutions are fit for purpose and ready to activate.
- Owning and maintaining the documentation that makes recovery possible, including runbooks, procedures, and the overall Business Continuity plan.
- Reporting progress and outcomes clearly to senior stakeholders, including honest accounts of what worked and what didn't.
- Tracking Business Impact Analysis and recovery objectives for critical systems, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Leading post-test reviews and turning lessons learned into real process improvements.
Your experience:
- Solid experience in Disaster Recovery or Business Continuity, ideally within a regulated or enterprise environment.
- A proven track record coordinating multiple technical teams toward a shared deadline, which is one of the most important parts of the role.
- Strong documentation instincts; understanding that a runbook someone else can follow under pressure is worth more than one only you understand.
- Confident communicating with senior stakeholders, translating technical detail into something a non-technical audience can act on, and comfortable owning reporting and audit evidence.
- Experience with regulatory frameworks like DORA is a strong plus, particularly if you've worked in financial services.
- Exposure to Mainframe recovery technologies is useful but not essential.
Please apply for a confidential conversation about this engagement.
