Due to continued growth, this established and market-leading manufacturer of special vehicles is looking for an Aftersales & Technical Support Engineer to join their team covering the southeast region. This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK team and is a full-time remote role, Monday to Friday days with approx. 3-4 fully expensed overnight stays monthly.

The Aftersales Engineer & Technical Support Engineer will work in various settings, including customer sites, manufacturing facilities and service centres and will involve travel to different locations to perform on-site repairs and maintenance as well as some international travel to production facilities in Germany and Poland.

The Aftersales & Technical Support Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, repairs and troubleshooting for ambulances and various other types of vehicles. Your role will involve diagnosing and resolving technical issues, performing preventive maintenance, carrying out repairs, conducting vehicle inspections and ensuring optimal performance of the equipment to minimise vehicle downtime.

The successful candidate will have a solid background in Auto electrics with ideally an NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance or equivalent with experience in engineering, auto electrical, and mechanical and proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the emergency vehicle sector.

In return you will receive a salary of £19.50ph door to door + Overtime + Healthcare + Pension + Company Van + Phone + Laptop + 23 Hols + Stats.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting routine maintenance tasks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Responding to service calls and inquiries from customers regarding technical issues.
  • Diagnosing equipment and vehicle malfunctions and performing repairs or replacements of defective parts.
  • Installing, configuring, and commissioning new equipment at customer sites.
  • Conducting equipment inspections to identify potential issues and recommend preventive measures.
  • Work with team members to organise workload and repair planning.
  • Collaborating with other team members, including sales and engineering teams, to provide comprehensive customer support.
  • Documenting service activities, including job cards, parts returns, and technical documentation.
  • Providing technical training and support to customers and internal staff as needed.
  • Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines while performing service activities.
  • Keeping up-to-date with advancements in technology and product developments to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • NVQ Level 3 in vehicle maintenance or equivalent (preferred, not essential).
  • Experience in engineering, auto electrical, mechanical or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the emergency vehicle sector.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, equipment manuals, and schematics to identify and resolve problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites as required.
  • Certifications or training in relevant technologies or equipment is a plus e.g. vehicle climate systems, air suspension, battery electric vehicle certification.
