Female Support Worker - NE13
(With the opportunity to pick up work in our other support services to bring up to full-time hours)
12-hour shifts (06:45 - 18:45) | £13.30 per hour
For this role, we are recruiting a part-time female driver (applicants must be over 25, with a manual driving licence and comfortable driving a motability car).
We are recruiting a compassionate and skilled Support Worker to join our specialist Learning Disabilities and Autism services across Newcastle and Gateshead. This is an active, rewarding role where you'll be part of a structured support package supporting a lovely lady to live safely and meaningfully.
Applicants will be calm and resilient with strong English language communication skills. They will be comfortable managing large amounts of phlegm (due to tracheostomy) and physically strong.
The successful applicant will be trained in all required clinical tasks, including:
- Tracheostomy care
- Cough Assist
- PEG feeding
About the Client: The client enjoys having a laugh and friendly banter with her support team. She enjoys NUFC, watching soaps, listening to music and reality TV. She likes getting out and about, including visits to her caravan during the summer as well as trips to Kielder (Calvert Trust).
Female Outreach Support Worker - Heaton, Newcastle
Hours to be discussed | £12.75 per hour
We are seeking a caring, reliable, and enthusiastic Female Outreach Support Worker to join a small, dedicated team supporting a young woman who is moving into her own flat in Heaton, Newcastle.
The young lady has a Learning Disability, Autism and ADHA and is looking for support to help her develop independence, build confidence, and enjoy the activities she loves.
As a Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support tailored to her individual needs. You will help her maintain her home, access her local community, develop life skills, and participate in activities that are meaningful to her.
The young lady enjoys:
- Harry Potter
- Arts and crafts
- Shopping
- Studying Hair and Beauty
Supporting her to engage in these interests will be an important part of the role.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Consistent in their approach
- Clear and positive when setting expectations and boundaries
- A good listener with excellent communication skills
- Patient, resilient, and understanding
- Reliable and committed to providing high-quality support
- Able to encourage independence while offering appropriate guidance and reassurance
Previous experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, or ADHD is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a commitment to person-centred support are equally important.
