Make a Real Difference in Specialist Support LIFE by Be Caring is recruiting compassionate and skilled Support Workers to join our specialist Learning Disabilities & Autism services across Newcastle and Gateshead. These are active, rewarding roles where you’ll be part of structured support packages for young men with Learning Disabilities and Autism, helping them to live safely, confidently and meaningfully in their communities.

We’re recruiting to two support packages:

  • 4:1 Support – North Tyneside (moving to Newcastle) – £13.50 p/hr (specialist rate)
  • 3:1 Support – Newcastle – £13.30 p/hr (complex rate)

We're looking for experienced, kind, compassionate, values-driven people who are passionate about making a real difference in people's lives and communities.

Pay, Bonuses & Rewards:

4:1 Specialist Support (Newcastle) - £13.50 p/hr (specialist rate): This young man (18 years old), has an infectious smile, loves animated films (Ice Age, Madagascar). He enjoys long walks and sensory-based experiences, such as baths in the dark. You'll be part of a new team, supporting this young man to move from North Tyneside to Newcastle. We are recruiting Support Workers for daytime shifts.

We’re looking for people who have:

  • Experience supporting individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism
  • An understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
  • Knowledge of safe and appropriate restraint reduction practice
  • Strong teamwork skills, with clear and proactive verbal and written communication
  • Good self-awareness and physical fitness to meet the demands of an active, hands‑on role

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and experience, being part of Multi Disciplinary Team meetings with our consultant Clinical Psychologist and other partners. You'll be part of a values‑led team, driven to improve the quality of life and outcomes of this young man.

3:1 Support (Newcastle) - £13.30 p/hr (complex rate): This young man (25) is curious and loves to learn. He enjoys arts and crafts, staying active and going for regular long walks. As part of his team, you will support him to stay safe at home and in the community. He loves listening to Smooth Radio, enjoys preparing meals independently and is keen to keep developing his skills to become more independent.

We’re looking for people who can:

  • Demonstrate experience supporting people with Learning Disabilities and Autism (Active Support and PBS approach)
  • Promote safety and reassurance during activities
  • Participate in long walks and creative activities
  • Promote independence, dignity and meaningful engagement
