Help lead a CQC-rated Outstanding service that keeps people safe, independent and living well in their own homes.

Be Caring is the UK's largest employee-owned social care provider, where colleagues are co-owners working together to make a real difference in people's lives and communities. Our Leeds home support service helps people to live safely, independently and with dignity in their own homes. We support people to stay connected to the things that matter most to them - their routines, their communities, and the lives they've built. Quality care, delivered at the right time and in the right way.

This is a key leadership role within our Leeds home support service - supporting the Operations Manager to ensure that the people we support receive outstanding, person-centred care that helps them to remain safe and independent in their own home. As Deputy Manager, you'll take a lead role on quality assurance, compliance, governance and staff development, helping to maintain and build on our outstanding reputation with the Care Quality Commission (CQC). You'll be someone who brings both strategic oversight and hands-on leadership - someone who genuinely cares about outcomes for the people we support and for the staff who deliver that support every day. This is a role that makes a real difference - to the people we care for, to the colleagues you'll lead, and to the quality and future of the service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Operations Manager in the day-to-day running of the service, and act as the lead in their absence.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive and values-driven culture across the service.
  • Lead, mentor and support staff teams to deliver safe, effective caring, responsive and well-led services.
  • Drive continuous improvement and embed best practice throughout the service.
  • Lead on quality assurance systems, audits and governance processes.
  • Ensure the service remains fully compliant with relevant legislation, regulations and CQC standards.
  • Develop and implement action plans arising from audits, inspections, incidents, complaints and feedback.
  • Monitor performance indicators and quality metrics to identify trends and drive improvements.
  • Prepare for and support CQC inspections, maintaining evidence portfolios that demonstrate Outstanding practice.
  • Champion excellence in person-centred care and outcomes.
  • Gather and analyse feedback from service users, families, professionals and staff to continually improve service delivery.
  • Promote preventative and proactive approaches that reduce risk, prevent unnecessary hospital admissions, and support people to remain safe and independent at home.
  • Promote innovation, continuous learning and reflective practice across the service.
  • Support recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and retention of staff.
  • Ensure all staff receive appropriate training, competency assessments and professional development.
  • Promote staff wellbeing and engagement.
  • Support staff to deliver strengths-based, person-centred care focused on achieving meaningful outcomes.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures are understood and followed by all staff.
  • Investigate incidents, concerns and complaints appropriately, promoting a culture of openness and learning.
  • Ensure robust risk assessments and preventative measures are in place to support individuals to live safely and confidently at home.

About You

We're looking for an experienced, compassionate leader who is committed to delivering outstanding care and who thrives in a values-led environment. You will have:

  • Significant experience working in a home support or domiciliary care setting.
  • A proven track record in quality assurance, compliance and CQC standards - ideally with experience supporting or maintaining an Outstanding rating.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience of managing, developing and motivating staff teams.
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding, risk management and person-centred care planning.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A commitment to promoting independence, dignity and choice for the people we support.
  • A Level 4/5 qualification in Health & Social Care (or working towards), or equivalent experience.

Most importantly, you'll share our values and want to Be Kind, Be Safe and Be the Best You Can Be in everything you do.

What We Offer

  • Annual leave: 33 days (inclusive of bank holidays)
  • Mileage: 45p per mile
  • Wellbeing Support: Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) - 24/7 support for you and your dependants
