Please note: due to the personal nature of the support, this role is open to female applicants only (in line with the Equality Act 2010). The successful applicant will be supporting both male and female clients.

Where You’ll Work

You’ll be based in South Manchester, supporting people in their own homes across Sharston, Baguley, Wythenshawe, Northenden, Brooklands, Didsbury, Withington, Chorlton-cum-Hardy and Barlow Moor. We have opportunities for both drivers, depending on the area and rota.

Pay, Shift Pay & Hours

  • £13.30 p/hr – drivers
  • Mileage: 45p per mile for drivers & 20p per mile for cyclists
  • Full-time hours only
  • Weekend availability is required

We offer shift pay rather than pay-per-call, meaning you’re paid from the start of your first call to the end of your last call within a shift.

Shift patterns (2-week rota):

  • Early shift: 7:00am – 2:00pm
  • Late shift: 3:00pm – 10:00pm
  • Full and part time positions available
  • Alternate full weekends, or every Saturday or every Sunday

Job Description

If you have previous experience as a carer for family or friends, you’ll make an excellent Care Assistant in Wythenshawe, South Manchester. As a Care Assistant with Be Caring, you will:

  • Support people to achieve their personal outcomes, working alongside families and professionals
  • Provide dignified personal care that respects privacy and choice
  • Promote independence and confidence using enabling approaches
  • Deliver personalised care based on individual needs, choices, and preferences
  • Communicate clearly, recording and sharing information with the right people at the right time
  • Help people stay connected to their community, accessing local services and support

Induction Training

You’ll receive comprehensive paid induction training, including:

  • Be Caring values, going Above & Beyond to meet personal outcomes.
  • Dignity and respect, safeguarding and equality and diversity
  • Confidentiality and professional boundaries.
  • Fluids and nutrition and safe administration of medication.
  • Moving and positioning, basic life support, and pressure sores (React to Red)
  • Infection prevention and control, health and safety.
  • Learning Disabilities (Oliver McGowan Tier 1), mental health and capacity.
