We are recruiting a minimum of 4 full-time or 8 part-time Care Assistants to provide care and support to people living in the areas of Newcastle which includes; Fawdon, Gosforth, Kenton, Heaton, North Jesmond and Dinnington (NE2, NE3, NE7, NE13) .

You do not need a degree or care qualifications to be a Care Assistant , but you will need the right values. Each day is varied, and you will need to have a can-do attitude.
Job Description
Connecting our customers to community activities; providing care and support that promotes going above and beyond. You will be integral to enabling customers to access local community groups, activities and events.
- Provide personal care that protects people\’s dignity.
- Promote independence using enabling approaches.
- Support people to meet their outcomes, involving families and professionals.
- Connect people to their communities accessing local support and services.
- Deliver personalised care through individual choice and control.
- Be a strong and effective communicator, documenting, reporting, and sharing information with the right people at the right time.
Pay: £ p/hr (drivers) (paid per shifts not per call, travel time included)
As a Care Assistant for Be Caring , your working hours will be aligned to our shift patterns, which for this role include late shift working and alternate weekends.
- Early Shifts: 7:00am – 3:00pm
- Late shift: 3:00pm – 10:00pm (finish time depends on public transport times)
As a Care Assistant for Be Caring , we will agree your working pattern, setting 2-week rota which includes:
- Evenings as agreed within your working hours.
- Fully funded DBS.
- Paid induction training:1 week classroom-based (Monday – Friday), 2 days shadowing and additional online modules.
- Training development: funded Level 2 and other accredited courses.
- Holiday pay:annual leave accumulates with working hours and length of service.
- Employee Assistance Programme (EAP):24-hour helpline, advice and guidance for yourself and dependents.
- Union membership (optional):through our partnership with the GMB.
Induction Training
We are looking for people with Be Caring values to join our team. For this role you do not need care experience, we recognise you will have many transferable skills from previous roles, for example as a shop assistant. We will provide you with the training you need to be an outstanding Care Assistant .
As a Care Assistant for Be Caring , you will be provided with comprehensive induction training on:
- Be Caring values, going Above & Beyond to meet personal outcomes.
- Dignity and respect, safeguarding and equality and diversity
- Confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Fluids and nutrition and safe administration of medication.
- Moving and positioning, basic life support, and pressure sores (React to Red)
- Infection prevention and control,health and safety.
- Learning Disabilities (Oliver McGowan Tier 1), mental health and capacity.
