If this sounds like you, then you are just the person we\\\’re looking for. We are seeking full and part-time Care Assistants (community-based) across the North Tyneside area to provide care and support to people in the local area.
Supporting individuals across: Cullercoats, North Shields, Monkseaton, Shiremoor, Whitley Bay & Wallsend. You may already have many of the skills needed to make an excellent Care Assistant; are you punctual, organised, have strong and effective communication.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care that protects people\\\’s dignity.
- Promote independence using enabling approaches.
- Support people to meet their outcomes, involving families and professionals.
- Connect people to their communities accessing local support and services.
- Deliver personalised care through individual choice and control.
- Be a strong and effective communicator, documenting, reporting, and sharing information with the right people at the right time.

- Dignity and respect, safeguarding and equality and diversity.
- Confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Fluids and nutrition and safe administration of medication.
- Moving and positioning, basic life support, and pressure sores (React to Red).
- Infection prevention and control, health and safety.
- Learning Disabilities (Oliver McGowan Tier 1), mental health and capacity.

Benefits and Pay
- Join Be Caring North Tyneside and get a New Starter Bonus of up to £300.
- Work an average of 30+ hours and you will receive: £300 split over two payments of £150 (paid at month 3 and month 6).
- You will also receive up to £300 Refer a Friend bonus, up to £300 annual bonus, and £25 birthday gift voucher.
- Pay: £12.82 p/hr (drivers) / £12.25 p/hr (walkers)
- 45p per mile for drivers; 20p per mile for cyclists.
- Shifts include early starts, late evenings and weekend working:
- Early Shifts 7:00am – 3:00pm
- Late shift: 3:00pm – 10:00pm (finish time depends on public transport times)
- Two-week rota with alternating full weekends and evenings as arranged within working hours.
- Fully funded DBS; paid induction training; progression and development opportunities.
