We are recruiting a minimum of 2 part-time Care Assistants to provide care and support to people living in all NE3 areas (including Fawdon, Kenton, Montague Estate, South Gosforth).
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care that protects people’s dignity.
- Promote independence using enabling approaches.
- Support people to meet their outcomes, involving families and professionals.
- Connect people to their communities accessing local support and services.
- Deliver personalised care through individual choice and control.
- Be a strong and effective communicator, documenting, reporting, and sharing information with the right people at the right time.
Qualifications and Requirements
You do not need a degree or care qualifications to be a Care Assistant, but you will need the right values. Each day is varied, and you will need to have a can-do attitude. You may already have many of the skills needed to make an excellent Care Assistant for Be Caring, such as patience, empathy, and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
There is no requirement for prior care experience; training will be provided.
Working Hours and Location
Pay: £12.25 p/hr (walkers) - paid per shifts not per call, travel time included. Mileage: 45p per mile for drivers & 20p per mile for cyclists. Working hours will be aligned to shift patterns, which include late shifts and alternate weekends. Early Shifts: 7:00am – 3:00pm. Late shift: 3:00pm – 10:00pm (finish time depends on public transport times). The 2-week rota includes alternate full weekends and evenings as agreed within working hours. Successful applicants will cover all areas including Fawdon, Kenton, Montague Estate and South Gosforth.

Induction Training
We provide comprehensive induction training on Be Caring values and necessary care practices, including safeguarding, confidentiality, nutrition, moving and positioning, infection prevention and control, and related topics. Specific modules cover dignity and respect, health and safety, and care-related competencies.
