Job Description

This is a full time, maternity cover contract position.

The location of this role is Newcastle, Manchester or York, inclusive with hybrid working.

What you will be doing

The Historic Places Regeneration Team Leader sets the strategic direction for the Historic Places Regeneration Team and acts as a senior representative for Historic England across the region, taking responsibility for key external relationships. They also oversee the effective use of grants and specialist expertise, ensuring that the team’s place-based activities across the region meet regional priorities and the ambitions of our Strategic Plan. Team leaders guide and support staff, developing skills, managing workloads, and ensuring consistent standards. They foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that encourages innovation and focuses efforts where they create the greatest public value.

  • Experience of overseeing place-based programmes of work
  • Experience of managing a multi-disciplinary team
  • Comfortable working in a changing environment
  • Confident in delivering grant or investment programmes
